Mango Juice Recipe For Summer Season

Temperatures in Mumbai are rising by the day. This rising heat makes me want to give up on eating or drinking anything hot. The morning cup of tea is not enjoyable for me nowadays. The only good thing about this month is Alphonso Mangoes. So I thought why not search for an alternate morning drink using Mango, king of all fruits.

So I begin my research and I come across this delicious Mango Juice Recipe. It is healthier than tea and would also the best way to cool down my mornings before I leave home and enter into a battlefield with Mumbai heat.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium or large Alphonso mangoes - yields approx 1.5 to 2 cups of mango puree
  • 1-2 tsp of Chia seeds
  • Organic powdered Jaggery / unrefined cane sugar as required
  • 3-4 cups of chilled water or as required
  • ½ or 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
  • few ice cubes (optional)

Preparation:

Soak the Chia seeds in ½ cup of water for half an hour. Peel and chop the mangoes. Add mangoes and water in a blender. Also, add sugar or Jaggery as required and blend everything well. Strain the soaked Chia seeds and add them to the sherbet. Stir & pour mango sherbet in tall glasses. Add a few ice cubes while serving if required.

Try this recipe and let us know if it gives your morning a tasty and cool boost.
